FREE TELECLASS – Making & Promoting Your Business As Green
(Williamstown, WV) Sarah Halstead Boland, Executive Director of WV GreenWorks will be the guest speaker at a FREE teleclass for business owners who want to make their businesses green (or greener). Mrs. Boland will be giving business owners ideas about how to promote their businesses as “green” to be able to encourage more clients and customers to use their services.
Mrs. Boland will present creative and simple steps business owners can take tomorrow to turn their business into a green or greener business; give several examples of how to use green ideas to cut cost; how to begin promoting your business as a “green”; and explain what clients and customers are looking for when they purchase from or hire a business.

Sarah Halstead Boland brings big vision and what seems to be renewable energy to the work of establishing West Virginia as a world-recognized location to grow businesses, attract capital, and create quality jobs. She’s the organizing force behind the US Green Building Council’s newly formed WV Chapter, BuildGreenWV, several GreenDrinks chapters in the state, and is a founding member of Create WV. She is the Executive Director of WV GreenWorks, a statewide clearinghouse for green and sustainable information and training, and a partner at Katalyst Development Strategies, a woman-owned mission-based communications firm dedicated to promoting smart ideas, people, projects and practices.
Sarah and WV GreenWorks are described as the state’s “super advocates” and go-to resources for anyone who wants to know more about green jobs, high performance buildings, energy efficiency, and sustainable community development. Her work centers on researching environmental issues and jobs related to addressing those issues, resource development and collaboration, marketing, outreach, and program development in support of sustainability.
Sarah works with industry representatives, education providers, statewide and local Workforce Investment Boards, trade associations, and economic development corporations to assess organization needs, community needs, workforce skills, and training program gaps. Her experience in building statewide programs and industry partnerships informs her current work in economic, community and program development in West Virginia.
